- Final design including investigation of special joining technologies to connect the advanced reflector material to the wall, analysis of integrability of the new reflector into the beam extraction system and manufacturing of prototype (M34)
Work Package 6
- D6.1: Validated McStas implementation of nanodiamond scattering including fluorination option (M12)
- D6.2: Neutronics design of the ESS beam extraction system and for experimental test. (M33)
- D6.3 Publication on results of the experimental campaign of in-pile beam extraction and final activity report, summarizing the entire work package. (M34)
Work Package 7
- D7.1 Definition of instrument concepts (M6)
- This report is the main output of Task 7.1 and will be delivered in month 6. It will list the instrument concepts selected for optimization, together with a brief justification for their selection and a preliminary definition of the FoM for each instrument concept.
- D7.2 Optimization study of instruments, moderator and reflector (M34)
- This report covers the work of Tasks 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 and will be delivered in month 34, marking the end of the WP. For each instrument concept, it will describe the FoM used for the optimization and the iterative optimization process involving moderators, reflector and instrument design. It will then assemble the optimization of all the instrument concepts into a single global optimum and evaluate and present the resultant instrument concepts and their performance. - D8.1 McStas components of a single nested-mirror-bank and Wolter optic for general purpose neutron extraction from a moderator (M12)
- D8.2 Paper submitted for publication on the development of a full model of the NNBAR experiment (M18)
- D8.3 Paper submitted for publication on comparative McStas simulations of optimized nested-mirror neutron extraction systems and a parabolic neutron trumpet for NNBAR (M24)
- D8.4 Conceptual design report paper on NNBAR design, expected physics performance and cost (M34)
Work Package 9
- D9.1 A cloud resource accessed via a password-controlled website that performs all necessary calculations to provide users with the material properties and data required to perform their own thermal neutron scattering simulations with the moderator materials investigated by this grant. All necessary documentation to use this cloud resource (a user’s manual) will be included as well (M34)
- D9.2 A cloud resource accessed via a password-controlled website that performs McStas simulations with the neutron beamline source terms for the ESS high intensity moderators. All necessary documentation to use this cloud resource (a user’s manual) will be included as well (M34)
- D9.3 The McStas Development Coordinator will ensure that all McStas developments are performed in a way that can be easily merged into the McStas git repository main branch (M34)
